There is a fine line between faux'ing a finish intended to look like marble and actually applying "marble resign" to the surface for that unmistakable real look and feel. In this photo notice the tile in the shower(on the right) is the real deal, but all the other walls including the face with the sheen is the actually Venetian Plaster. The feel and look of this plaster is very much like the marble tile itself, the product is all natural and, well, good for you.
The technique required a 5 coat aplication of 4 different colors.

The beauty of natural. Its simple to say and understand. Seems like its common sense to produce only eco friendly plasters such as American Clay Earth Plaster which is a practical, environmentally friendly alternative. It is compatible with the “breathable” construction recommended for both historic and new buildings. But what i love the most about it is the range of finishes and effects one can achieve, no matter your looking for. In particular, the pic below illustrates how to combine modern and traditional styles in order to establish a feel just right for the environment. Source - Americanclay.com

To officially kick start this adventure we would love to show off one of our most favorite finishes which not only is beautiful and elegant and mod but also very earth friendly. This is Venetian Plaster (Stucco Venezano or Spatolato a Venaziano - also referred as), an all natural plaster composed of marble dust, earth clay, lime and sometimes vegetable oils. Because of the behaviors of marble after polished this plaster can achieve incredible translucency, sheen, gloss and the all natural "cool" feel. What you see below is the Bank of China in Los Angeles, angelically finished by New Line Inc, a US based application company. We recommend taking a peak when you can. Thnax to the NLI for supplying the pics.
